Privacy Policy

Last Updated: March 9, 2026

Hoshiyomi, LLC ("Hoshiyomi," "Company," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use our web and mobile applications and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1) Definitions

  • "Personal Data" means information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular person or household.
  • "User Content" means text, prompts, messages, files, images, audio recordings (including voice input/voice messages), or other content you submit to the Service ("Input") and any results generated by the Service in response ("Output").
  • "Service Providers" means vendors and contractors that process information on our behalf (for example hosting, analytics, payment processing, customer support, and AI infrastructure providers).

2) Information We Collect

a) Information you provide

We may collect:

  • User Content (Input and Output) and related metadata (e.g., time, device, session identifiers).
  • Voice inputs (which we process ephemerally and instantly convert to text transcripts) and related metadata.
  • Account information (such as email address, username, and authentication details if you create an account).
  • Payment information (if you subscribe or purchase). Payment card information is typically collected by our payment processors or app stores, not stored by us, though we may receive tokens and billing metadata.
  • Support communications (messages you send to us, bug reports, feedback).

b) Information collected automatically

When you use the Service, we may automatically collect:

  • Device and network information (device type, operating system, browser, language, unique device identifiers).
  • Log and usage data (pages/screens viewed, features used, clicks, performance/diagnostics, crash logs).
  • Approximate location derived from IP address.
  • Cookies/SDK data (see Section 6).

c) Information from third parties

We may receive:

  • Payment status and subscription details from payment processors and app stores.
  • Analytics and attribution data from analytics providers.

3) How We Use Information

We use information for the following purposes:

a) Provide and operate the Service

  • To deliver features, generate Outputs, maintain accounts, and provide customer support.
  • To process transactions and manage subscriptions.

b) Improve and develop the Service (including training)

  • To debug, test, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • To develop, train, and improve our AI models and related systems using User Content and usage data.

Opt-Out of AI Training (Model Improvement)

You have the right to opt out of having your User Content used to train or improve our AI models. You can exercise this right at any time by navigating to your Account Settings and toggling the "Data Training" switch to "Off" (or any equivalent control we provide).

If you opt out, your future User Content will not be used for model training or improvement after we process your request. This opt-out is prospective and will not retroactively remove data from AI models that were trained prior to your opt-out.

Voice and Audio Data

If you use voice-input features, your audio is processed ephemerally. We use third-party services to instantly convert your spoken audio into a text transcript to provide the Service. The raw audio file is immediately and permanently deleted from our servers the moment the transcription is complete. We do not store, retain, or use raw audio files to train our AI models. We expressly do not extract 'voiceprints' or biometric identifiers.

c) Safety, security, and compliance

  • To prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
  • To enforce our Terms of Service and protect rights and safety.
  • To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

d) Communications

  • To send service-related messages (e.g., receipts, security notices, policy updates).
  • To respond to your inquiries.
  • If you sign up, to send product updates/marketing messages where permitted by law (you can opt out of marketing emails).

4) Sensitive Information and "Do Not Submit" Warning

The Service is not designed for highly sensitive personal data. Please do not submit:

  • government IDs (SSN, passport numbers), bank or full payment card numbers,
  • precise health/medical data or Protected Health Information (PHI) subject to HIPAA,
  • biometric identifiers (such as voiceprints),
  • information about children,
  • or any other information you would not want stored and potentially used to improve AI systems.

If you do submit sensitive information, you do so at your own risk.

5) Aggregated / De-Identified Data

We may create aggregated or de-identified data derived from information collected through the Service. This data does not reasonably identify you. We may use and share it for analytics, research, product improvement, and other lawful business purposes, including commercial purposes.

6) Cookies, SDKs, and Similar Technologies

We and our Service Providers may use cookies, pixels, local storage, and SDKs to:

  • keep you signed in,
  • remember preferences,
  • measure usage and performance,
  • detect fraud and abuse,
  • and improve the Service.

Your choices

  • You can usually control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking certain cookies may break functionality.
  • Mobile operating systems may allow limiting ad tracking or resetting device identifiers (where applicable).
  • Some analytics providers offer opt-out mechanisms. Where we use such tools, we will honor their standard opt-out signals when feasible.

Do Not Track

Some browsers offer "Do Not Track" signals. There is no uniform standard; we do not currently respond to all such signals.

7) How We Share Information

We do not sell Personal Data that identifies individual users.

We may share information:

  • With Service Providers who process information on our behalf (hosting, analytics, payments, customer support, AI infrastructure providers).
  • For legal and safety reasons (to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect rights and safety, investigate fraud/security).
  • Business transfers (merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets). We will require appropriate confidentiality protections.
  • With your direction (if you choose to connect third-party services or share content externally).

Targeted advertising / "sale" / "share"

We do not knowingly "sell" Personal Data for money. If our practices change, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any required choices.

8) Data Retention

We retain Personal Data for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • provide the Service,
  • comply with legal obligations,
  • resolve disputes,
  • enforce agreements,
  • and for legitimate business purposes.

Example retention (may vary by context)

  • Account data: until you delete your account or request deletion, plus a reasonable period for backups and audit logs.
  • User Content: stored to provide the Service; use for training/improvement depends on your Data Training setting; deletion may be limited as described below.
  • Security logs: typically retained for a limited period to detect and prevent abuse.
  • Billing records: retained as required by tax/accounting laws.

Important: Even if you request deletion, we may retain certain information where required or permitted by law. Also, deletion may not remove information that has been incorporated into trained models (see Section 10).

9) Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect Personal Data. However, no system is 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials.

Data breach notification. In the event of a security breach that materially compromises your Personal Data, we will notify you and any applicable regulatory authorities without undue delay, and in accordance with applicable legal requirements, detailing the nature of the breach and the steps we are taking to mitigate it.

10) Your Choices and Account Deletion

a) Account Deletion

You may delete your account and associated Personal Data at any time. To do so, you must log into your account and use the in-app or in-account deletion feature. We require you to initiate deletion from within your authenticated account to prevent fraud and unauthorized deletions.

b) Deletion Limits (Important)

If you request deletion of your account, we will delete your Personal Data from our active databases. Regarding AI models: Due to the nature of machine learning, it is not technically feasible to surgically remove specific data points from a trained AI model. While we will delete your User Content from our active databases, we cannot guarantee removal of all influence your data may have had on model parameters (weights) in models that were trained prior to your deletion request.

11) International Data Processing

The Service is hosted and operated primarily in the United States and is primarily designed for users located in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you do so at your own risk and are responsible for compliance with local laws.

Your information may be processed and stored in the United States and other jurisdictions where we or our Service Providers operate. These jurisdictions may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States.

12) Minors

The Service is intended only for users who are at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority in their jurisdiction, if higher). We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will take steps to terminate the account and delete associated Personal Data, subject to legal requirements and our legitimate business needs (such as security and fraud prevention).

13) Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
